Richard Frias is a lawyer in private practice in New Mexico. His practice focuses on Indian law, commercial transactions, and corporate formation. He earned a Bachelor of Arts in English with an emphasis in creative writing in 1990 from the University of California, Irvine and a Juris Doctor with a Certificate in Indian Law from the University of New Mexico School of Law in 2011. Richard founded Frias Indian Law and Policy, LLC in 2017. Prior to entering private practice Richard had worked as the Legislative Director for the National Indian Gaming Association in Washington, D.C., and as Chief Counsel to the Governor at the Pueblo of Pojoaque. He is an enrolled member of the Chihene Nde Nation of New Mexico.
