BLM Meeting at Navajo Nation Museum

On December 2nd the Bureau of Land Management held a meeting about proposed oil and gas expansion outside of Chaco Canyon at the Navajo National Museum. The New Mexico Wildlife Federation submitted comments online and also spoke at the meeting.

The meeting was at-capacity and members representing various tribes protested outside.

Seeing so many passionate people speaking against the expansion of oil and gas was both inspiring and sobering. NMWF hopes the BLM seriously considers the public opinion as they move forward with this rule.

Our public lands fellow spoke during the public comment section about why it is so important to protect this area culturally and for the sake of our wildlife and environment:
