In late July, New Mexico Wildlife Federation staff partnered with the New Mexico Department of Game and Fish, YouthWorks, and 1 Santa Fe to host 25 youth from Santa Fe’s Southside. It was a great overnight of camping and fishing in the Pecos Wilderness. The group set small live traps to study what mammals were living in the riparian areas, studied mountain predators and prey, discussed the importance of wildlife connectivity and learned about careers in conservation and environmental sciences.
