Our executive director Garrett Vene Klasen was excited to join Michael Casaus, New Mexico Director of the Wilderness Society; Leandra Taylor, Employment and Environment Ambassador for EPA and Fish and Wildlife Service; Jennifer Owen-White, Valle de Oro Refuge Manager; and Paul Mauermann, Director of the Sandia Mountain Natural History Center this morning on KUNM’s call-in show to discuss the importance of getting outside.
Guests discussed what inspired them to get outside, how they’re working to bring more diverse audiences into the outdoors, and lots of listeners called in to discuss the outdoor activities they enjoy the most.
Listen to the whole episode on the KUNM site.
The New Mexico Wildlife Federation is working hard to bring more young people and more diverse communities into the outdoors. Last week, we brought youth from across New Mexico on a rafting trip – many of whom had never been out on the river. Check our events page often to see what else we have in store!
