ALBUQUERQUE: On July 24th, the New Mexico State Game Commission selected Mike Sloane to be the next director of the New Mexico Game and Fish Department. Sloane is currently the Chief of the Fisheries Division and has served in the department for 24 years.
Current Director Alexa Sandoval will retire July 31st of this year. The New Mexico Wildlife Federation thanks her for her dedicated service to the department and wishes her a satisfying retirement!
“It’s been really great working with Director Sandoval and we look forward to continuing to build our relationship with the department under Director Sloane,” said New Mexico Wildlife Federation Acting Executive Director Todd Leahy. “We wish Sandoval the best in her retirement and Sloane our assistance in his new role.”
