The New Mexico Wildlife Federation engages youth in outdoor recreation experiences that teach conservation, science, and responsibility to cultivate the next generation of conservationists. Now, we want to hear from you!

New Mexico Youth (age 5-17)

You are invited to enter the New Mexico Wildlife Federation, Gen Out Youth Club Art Contest. Open to all youth ages 5 – 17, the contest encourages participants to draw on their artistic talents to convey the activities and sights they like to see or do while out in nature.

By participating, children will not only share their insights into the great outdoors, but they also have the chance to win great prizes!

Rules:

Eligibility:

• The contest is open to New Mexico residents ages 5 – 17.

Theme:

• Entries should reflect the general theme “How I enjoy the outdoors.” Drawings can be done on the template available for download here, or a separate 8″ x 10″ sheet of paper. Use your imagination and have fun!

Artwork:

• Acceptable media are paint (water colors or oil), colored pencil, ink, markers, or pastels.

Entry Form:

• Entry forms must be completed and signed by the student’s legal guardian. Please attach the entry form with tape or other fixative (if using glue, be careful to use one that will not run through and damage the artwork). Please do not attach these forms with paper clips or staples, which can damage the artwork.

Mailing:

• Entries must be mailed flat or rolled in a tub – no folding, please! If mailing flat, we recommend you use cardboard or a similar material to protect artwork during mailing.

Rights to Artwork:

• Submissions become property of New Mexico Wildlife Federation. Through submission of artwork, contestants and their legal guardians grant non-exclusive reproduction and publication rights to the works submitted, which will not be returned.

Deadline for Entries:

• All completed entries must be postmarked or received by November 1, 2016, and must be accompanied by an attached and completed entry form. Entry forms will not be accepted by email. All entries should be mailed to:

Judging:

• Entries will be judged in November. The artwork will be judged by online vote on the New Mexico Wildlife Federation website. Winners will be announced by the end of November 2016. NMWF reserves the right to not award a winner if no entry merits such designation.

Prizes:

Four winners will be selected:

• Each winner will receive a rafting trip in Spring 2017
• Artwork will be developed into greeting cards available for purchase to support the New Mexico Wildlife Federation. All winners will receive a box of greeting cards
• All entrants will receive a one year membership to Gen Out Youth Club
