We need your help to Protect Critical Riparian Habitat in the Gila!
We’ve written to you before about the ever-shifting Gila River diversion proposals, and the millions of dollars that has been spent on failed design and engineering plans. Up on a tight deadline, the New Mexico CAP Entity has finally submitted its proposed diversion project, and it’s short on details regarding the cost, design, beneficiaries, and amount of water to be drawn out of an already drying Gila River. We thank you for submitting these comments on behalf of sportsmen and women urging the Bureau of Reclamation and Interstate Stream Commission to reconsider this project until you, the public, can fully evaluate its potential impacts to wildlife and ecological sustainability.
